Refund policy
All items made in house are limited edition and mostly made to order. As such, they are final sale, with limited exceptions, however, some items can be exchanged. Please see below and message us at @hello@articlesdefetenyc.com for assistance. Please do so within 14 days of your purchase, in any case.
Exceptions include damage incurred during shipping, and truly defective items. Claims of either of the aforementioned scenarios are evaluated case by case, and will be determined upon examination of photos, and if necessary, having the item sent in for review, at your expense. We will determine whether the item can be repaired (at our expense) or if it is beyond repair, and incurred during shipping, a claim will be filed with the courier. Any item that is accepted for return will be refunded as Site Credit ONLY, which is valid for any product or service on our site except shipping.
If you received an item as a gift, we must locate the original buyer and proof of purchase. If you would like to exchange the item, please indicate the item you would prefer when requesting the return. If you like the item, but perhaps you would like a different color, mention that as well. We will do our best to accommodate your request. We only issue Site/Merchandise Credit for any return.
If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label if warranted, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain items are final sale. Any customized or personalized item, as well as ALL Bespoke items, are final sale. Please pay close attention to all photographs provided during the customization process. If a mistake is made, we will provide instructions and a label to send it back and will will make every effort to correct the mistake. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
If you received an item as a gift, please provide the original buyer's name and email address so we can locate the proof or purchase. (We will not alert the buyer of the exchange, don't worry!). If you would like to exchange the item, please indicate the item you would prefer when requesting the return. If you like the item, but perhaps you would like a different color, mention that as well. We will do our best to accommodate your request. Once we receive the item you would like to exchange, we will process and ship the item. Shipping both directions is the responsibility of the party requesting the exchange.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the return was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically provided with a Site Credit via email. Site Credits are valid for anything on the site except for shipping.
